GAO Tells Secretary Cardona "Address School Restraint and Seclusion Data Quality Issues."

On July 5, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) issued a letter to Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona as follow-up to a 2020 report: K-12 Education: Education Needs to Address Significant Quality Issues with its Restraint and Seclusion Data. GAO emphasized the need for ED to immediately address “significant quality issues with its restraint and seclusion data – whose quality impacts districts ability to understand the use and impacts of these practices on students.”
