U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights Resolves Disability Compliance Review

On October 21, 2024, the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights (OCR) secured a resolution agreement from the St. Johns County School District in Florida to ensure that its restraint policies and practices do not deny students with disabilities a free appropriate public education (FAPE).

COPAA appreciates the Office for Civil Rights' efforts to hold districts accountable in honoring the rights of students with disabilities.
